Unix passwd file integration

We are planning a migration from Unix based RADIUS authentication to
Emerald/RadiusNT based authentication.

I'm trying to authenticate users from our master.passwd file, I've copied
it into the RadiusNT directory and tried some sample radlogins using the
USER file with 'Password = UNIX' but the
authentications are coming up BAD.

Pointers ? I've left 'encrypt passwords' off in the RadiusNT setup because
I want the password to be stored in the Emerald DB in clear text.
