Anyway, I got everything installed correctly as far as I know and I can
connect to the Emerald database and login. However, once I am logged in, I
can't see any accounts. I click on the "Accounts" button and nothing
happens. ... I actually vaguely remember someone saying something kind of
like this once before, a quite awhile ago, but I don't remember if this was
what their problem was. This was a clean install of everything onto my
machine at home.. the machine has win95a on it if that is useful. On another
(and probably related) note, when I try to use the EmeraldAdmin from home, I
can log in, but when I try to do anything, I get a dialog box that says,
"Unexpected Error, Error Code 30005" ... I'm not sure if that is the right
error code number right now, I can't remember. That should give you the idea
though in case anyone else has seen it. When I click "OK" on that dialog
box, EmeraldAdmin closes.
I didn't know if this is a permissions problem or something of that nature.
I am using the same username and password I have setup for myself here at
work, and it works fine here. I can even log into the SQL server using the
Enterprise Manager. Also, I have installed 5 clients in the office so far,
and haven't had this problem yet, so that is what made me really curious. Of
course this is the first machine that I have tried to connect to the Emerald
server using only TCP/IP and ODBC. By that I mean, the others in the office
could also log onto the NT server that Emerald is on via the office LAN with
IPX and NetBUI. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it either.
Well, I just know it was odd, and kind of baffled me. I tried re-installing
Emerald even to check and see. Didn't work either.
Again, I am using Emerald 2.5.250 and Win95a. on the Client. The server has
NT 4.0,service pack 3, SQL server 6.5.
If anyone has any ideas into why this strange behavior is happening and how
to get around it, please let me know.
Thanks,
Brad Teague
