There might be another reason that you are having troubles running =
serv-u as a service. Maybe Serv-U is making a connection to the =
database, but since the service starts before any user has logged in, =
then the unc location of the users ftp directory (that is stored in the =
database) would appear to be invalid to serv-u because the pc has not =
yet logged on to the network.=20
=20
One way around this would be to store the physical location =
("c:\ftpusers") of the ftp users directory in the database (instead of =
unc "\\ftpserver\ftpshare"). But this would mean serv-u would be =
required to be running on the same system that the ftp directories exist =
on. The problem with this is that when you create a user in =
emerald....the emerald client may try to create the ftp directory on the =
local pc (instead of the server that is storing the ftp directories).
=20
Another way would be to just set your system to automatically login at =
bootup, and put serv-u in the startup folder.=20

I have ServU running on our web server successfully however it won't =
make the connection with our SQL db on seperate server when the =
webserver boots. If I stop and restart ServU the .dll links =
successfully. How do I get it to work automatically so it will start as =
a service without stopping it and restarting it.?
